Grant Policy
To the extent funds are available the Foundation makes a limited number of grants to organizations that clearly further its mission of supporting the delivery of pro bono legal services, law-related educational programs, and service projects that encourage public understanding of and access to our justice system.
It is recommended that interested applicants contact the Executive Director at (804)780-2600 to discuss the availability of grant funds prior to submitting an application.
Guidelines
Please include the following information in your grant request:
- Official name of applicant and a brief description of the mission of the organization
- Address, telephone number, and email of the contact person
- List of board officers and directors
- Documentation of the organization's 501(c)(3) status, if applicable
- Current year's budget and financial statement for the previous year
- Amount of grant request, current funding available, and source and amount of funds requested from other resources
- Description, timeline, and budget for the project for which the grant would be used
- Explanation of why your project fits within the mission of the Foundation
