Good Advice for Those Doing Good.
One of GRBF’s signature programs, The Pro Bono Clearinghouse, was established in 2001 to provide free legal services to Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Nonprofits often deal with many of the same complex legal issues that for-profit organizations do but lack resources to find and retain appropriate counsel. That’s where the Clearinghouse helps. Our virtual law firm makes it easy for experienced attorneys to connect with nonprofits in need of legal assistance, so that the nonprofit can focus more of their time and resources on their charitable purpose.
The Pro Bono Clearinghouse is a great fit for transactional attorneys who would prefer not to get involved in court litigation.
Our nonprofit clients need assistance in the following areas of practice:
- Governance, review, and/or amendment of bylaws/articles of incorporation
- Employment & Labor law
- Review of operational policies and procedures
- Real estate issues
- Contract review and drafting
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Taxes & charitable giving
- Copyrights and trademarks
We do not assist nonprofits with litigation, libel, or other contentious matters.
