We are pleased to announce the recipients of this year's George H. Hettrick Leadership & Benjamin R. Lacy, IV Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Once facing homelessness, Dorie Arthur is now about to graduate from law school. She has taken her experiences and turned them into an opportunity to help others facing financial struggles. Having not even graduated from law school yet, her extensive pro bono work is already making an impact.
Four people have been awarded the 2020 Benjamin R. Lacy, IV Volunteer of the Year Award for their outstanding efforts with the Eviction Diversion Program.
Ali Fannon has been awarded the 2020 George H. Hettrick Leadership Award for her outstanding commitment to pro bono service.
The Supreme Court of Virginia has extended its Judicial Emergency Order to address the COVID-19 safety measures necessary at this time. We have created a page with links to this Order, information on local court orders in response, and Virginia State Bar information, including MCLE changes, and other helpful resources for attorneys. GRBF has shifted to virtual pro bono service opportunities for our Eviction Diversion Program and is currently seeking volunteers.
